Noordeinde/ Northend renovation detours

As the Noordeinde / Northend is undergoing a renovation until mid-December 2024, cyclists entering the city have to take a small detour indicated on the map below in blue, by turning left in front of the barrier and cycling down the Weddesteeg, past Rembrandt Square (on the left). Before the bridge turn right and bike all the way down Galgewater parallel to the canal. After crossing Kort Rapenburg, you can enter Boommarkt as bikes are permitted to enter and exit from both directions.

Vehicles entering the city will have to take the following detour indicated on the map below in green: from the Haagweg before the train tracks, turn left, and go over the Rijnzichtbridge. If the barriers are up and no train is passing, cross the train tracks. Drive along the Morsweg, where you will see the MorsPoort (Morsgate) approaching straight ahead. At the end of the street, turn to the left and the Morsweg becomes the Morssingel. You will see the Mors parking garage on your left and the Museum of Ethnology on your right. Follow the canal and turn to the right until you arrive at a bridge and see the Windmill in front of you. Turn to the right and onto the Steenstraat. Drive past the windmill to the end of the Steenstraat (one-way street). Turn left and drive over the bridge (one-way street), and then turn right onto Prinsessekade, with the canal on your right. Then take the first left onto Apothekersdijk. Drive straight and cross over the first bridge. Finally, turn right onto Boommarkt and go straight until you arrive at Parking Lot 1 (for students) or Parking Lot 2 (for staff and faculty).

To depart from the city center, vehicles are required to follow the route marked in orange. Note that after leaving Boommarkt it is not permitted to use the same streets as when arriving as there are one-way streets.
